WILL INSTALLING A GD STORE KIT AFFECT THE OPERATION OF MY GARAGE DOOR?
No…not if your garage door is working according to the manufacturer’s specifications. NEVER overload the bracket (maximum 40 lbs/1 kg.) or the bins (10 lbs or 4. kg per bin) and DO consult a trained door systems technician if your garage door sticks, binds, is out of balance, opens or closes differently or you suspect a change in operation.
WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO PARK MY CAR IN THE GARAGE?
The answer depends on a number of factors such as the height of your garage door, how tall is your vehicle and how big are the bins you are using.
As a rule of thumb you can anticipate the headroom for you vehicle to be 12in./21cm less than the height of your garage door.
EXAMPLE: if you have a 7 ft. / 2.13 Meter high garage door and use the recommended size bins you can anticipate having 6 ft. / 1.83 Meters of clearance for your vehicle.

DO I HAVE TO DRILL HOLES INTO MY GARAGE DOOR?
No…Our high-quality parts and fasteners work with the existing hardware on your garage door. However, if you chose to install the kit on a panel where there is not an existing hinge or other hardware, consult the manual for your specific garage door and it will tell you where holes can be drilled...the same as if you were installing a power garage door opener. CAN I INSTALL A GDSTORE KIT ON AN INSULATED GARAGE DOOR?
Yes…GDStore will install in the exact same fashion on both insulated and non-insulated doors.
WILL INSTALLING A GDSTORE KIT PERMANENTLY MODIFY MY GARAGE DOOR?
No...When installed correctly, installation
does not require modification to your garage door.
In fact, should you decide to move or replace your garage door, the
GDstore kit can be easily disassembled and re-installed.
CAN I MOUNT MORE THAN 1 GDSTORE KIT ON MY GARAGE DOOR?
Yes…You can install additional units on the same panel or put them on separate panels.
ATTENTION – storing more than the recommended maximum 40 lbs/18 kg. on your garage door will likely cause the torsion spring (the big spring that is above the garage door) to be out of adjustment. It is highly recommended that you have a garage door specialist inspect the garage door and make any adjustments that are necessary.

CAN I USE ANY CONTAINER OR STORAGE BIN?
The unique GD Store hanger is designed with strength and versatility in mind. Use your own containers or bins, and follow the instructions on how to attach the GD Store Bin Hanger on your container.
WHICH BINS ARE RECOMMENDED?
We prefer transparent bins so we can easily see what’s in the bins. Bins or containers up to 20 quarts/22 liters; with lids are ideal. Instead of bins, you can also hang tool carry cases where you store your drill or other tools.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO ORGANIZE WITH GD STORE?
We recommend transparent bins for GD Store, and we organize ours in “toolkits”. I keep a car care toolkit on the bracket…just grab it off the garage door and go clean…I even use the bin as a soap bucket. Travelling with the little ones?...have a bin of toys, just grab it and put it in the back seat with the children. My wife has a toolkit for gardening. A friend of ours has a dog kit containing bandanas, leashes, and grooming tools. Use your imagination or let necessity guide you. You can have all kinds of handy toolkits with GD Store.
DO MY BINS REQUIRE LOCKING LIDS?
Yes...when you raise your garage door the bins will go from vertical to horizontal when the door is up. You need to use bins or containers that lock securely to prevent items from falling out.
WHAT ELSE CAN I ATTACH THE BIN HANGER TO?
